Introduction
Asphalt Technology is a DPWH-aligned, four-day, 40-hour training program covering asphalt materials engineering, mix-design principles, laboratory testing, plant production, transportation, paving, compaction, field quality control, pavement distress, maintenance, rehabilitation, and QA/QC systems for road infrastructure projects.
Participants study the behavior of asphalt binders, aggregates, and asphalt mixtures, including the laboratory procedures and Marshall Mix Design methodology identified in the source. The course also addresses asphalt plant operations, placement and compaction practices, field density testing, pavement-failure analysis, and quality monitoring in accordance with the DPWH Standard Specifications for Highways, Bridges, and Airports or Blue Book referenced in the course.
